Opportunities for introducing a School Bus system in Tashkent are being studied

🔺 Practical studies have begun on launching a school bus — School Bus system in order to organize safe and convenient transportation of students to schools in the capital.

For this purpose, first of all, the needs of parents, how students currently get to school, and the data necessary for forming future bus routes are being studied.

📊 To date, the survey has been conducted in 29 of the 328 schools in Tashkent city that have a large number of students and, according to preliminary estimates, have been assessed as having a high level of demand for the School Bus system. 58,369 family members or guardians of students participated in it.

According to the preliminary results, of the students:
— 38.5% walk to school;
— 33.1% are brought by their parents in a private car;
— 18.3% use the bus;
— 5.7% use a taxi;
— 3.5% travel by metro;
— 0.9% use micromobility vehicles.

🚌 The most important indicator is that 73.5% of the survey participants expressed a desire to organize special bus services for schools.

This result shows that there is a high demand for the School Bus system in the capital.

The survey will continue step by step in the remaining schools as well. Based on the final results, student flows, routes, the number of buses needed, the schedule, safe drop-off and pick-up points, and other organizational issues will be studied in detail.

After that, the practical opportunities for introducing the School Bus system will be developed and the issue of launching it step by step will be considered in coordination with the relevant organizations.
