Mirzo Ulugbek district (district) is an administrative - territorial unit of the city of Tashkent. It is located in the northeastern part of the capital. The district was founded on November 29, 1929 as Proletarsky, renamed Kuibyshev in 1935. It was renamed Mirzo-Ulugbek district on 8 May 1992. The area extended east and Northeast from Amir Temur square. On the south-west side it borders Yashnabad district, on the north-west Yunusabad district, on the North-East, East and South - East-Qibray District of Tashkent region. Away from the main area of Mirzo Ulugbek district is Ulugbek municipality, surrounded by Qibray region. The district governor is the highest official in the county and at the same time administers the representative and executive authority in the respective area. The governor of the Mirzo Ulugbek district is Gaibnazarov Bokhodir Rikhsialievich.
