Transport movement on the capital’s roads as of September 7: key indicators

🔺 The Tashkent City Road Traffic Organization Center continuously monitors traffic flow, congestion levels, and public transport movement on the capital’s streets.

📊 On September 7, the first day of the new academic year at higher education institutions, a total of 1,501,013 vehicles moved on the capital’s roads throughout the day. This is 152,019 more than the figure of 1,348,994 on September 6.

🚌 Public transport movement

On September 7, 1,456,926 passengers were transported by 1,668 buses on 170 routes in 22,032 trips. This is 673,836 more than the figure of 783,090 on September 6.

🚇 1,049,288 passengers were transported by the Tashkent Metro during the day. This is 408,454 more than the figure of 640,834 on September 6.

🚦 Congestion situation

During monitoring by the Situation Center in peak hours of the day:
— at 6 intersections the congestion level reached 7 points;
— at 1 intersection the congestion level exceeded 7 points.

⚙️ Prompt measures taken

At the points where congestion was observed, in order to stabilize the traffic flow, the operating modes of traffic lights were coordinated and the green signal time was extended in the necessary directions. In addition, Road Patrol Service employees were involved at the necessary intersections to regulate traffic.

Utility organizations carried out works on 8 streets (Bogishamol, Al-Khorezmi, Shokirariq, P. Mahmud, Samarqand darvoza, Dilsaroy, Westminster dead-end streets, and at the intersection of Farhod and Lutfiy streets) that partially affected the possibility of using traffic flows on the carriageway.

Drivers are advised to plan their routes in advance taking these circumstances into account and, if necessary, to use alternative routes.

Violations formalized by the Road Traffic Safety Department

Control measures continue consistently on the capital’s streets in order to give priority to public transport, create safe and convenient conditions for pedestrians, and strengthen compliance with traffic rules.

On September 7:
— 11 cases of driving a vehicle on a pedestrian path;
— 9 cases of violating stopping rules;
— 19 cases of violating parking rules were formalized.

Drivers are requested not to stop vehicles on pedestrian paths or in front of them, to give way to pedestrians at designated crossings, not to occupy bus stop areas, not to drive in the “A” lane designated for public transport, and not to obstruct the movement of buses entering and leaving stops.

Within the framework of road infrastructure renewal works:
— 8,000 meters of road markings were renewed;
— 10 pedestrian crossings were improved;
— 12 road signs were installed;
— 3,000 meters of “A” category lanes were marked.
